A trio of archivists from the University of Wisconsin-Madison return to the
ir roots to present ways to preserve personal and family history in Norther
n Wisconsin. Amy Sloper, head film archivist at the Wisconsin Center for Fi
lm and Theater Research, and Catherine Hannula and Jenny Barth, students in
archival studies at the School of Library and Information Studies will pre
sent digitizing workshops as well as offer preservation advice for family h
istory materials such as home videos, photographs, slides, and other precio
us documents, to the communities of Bayfield, Barnes and Eau Claire from Ju
ly 2224. Attendees are heavily encouraged to bring their own family memo
rabilia to the event for digitization as well as advice on long-term sto
rage and care. This event is sponsored by the Wisconsin Center for Film & T
heater Research, the Ira and Ineva Reilly Baldwin Wisconsin Idea Endowment,
the UWMadison School of Library & Information Studies, the Bayfield Car
negie Library and the Barnes Historical Society.

We will offer 30 minute digitization appointments for the following formats
