Join us for the MHAHS 2016 Annual Meeting, to be held Sunday, October 9 at
the Mount Horeb Senior Center, Upper Level (107 N Grove St). Business meeti
ng and annual organizational update by Society Treasurer and staff begins a
t 2 p.m., with a program to follow by Wisconsin Historical Society Architec
tural Historian and Wisconsin State Historic Preservation Officer Jim Draeg
er. Mr. Draeger will discuss the architectural and social history of the on
ce-ubiquitous small town Wisconsin gas station, the subject of a book that
he co-authored called "Fill 'er Up: The Glory Days of Wisconsin Gas Station
s." A slideshow of historical photos documenting gas stations of the Mt Hor
eb area will also be presented. The public is welcome, with refreshments of
fered to all guests.
