Was the log stamp found in Forest County? If not, get some history of
where it may have come from. Looks like it has been under water for
awhile.
Look at old plat books for the name of a lumber company land holdings
with the initials RMc (or whatever it is). I’d start looking for
a McDonald.
Has anyone indexed old county Plat books? A place to start.
Forest History Association of Wisconsin may know of log mark books and
resources.
Were log marks registered with the state?
Wisconsin Log Marks by Howard Peddle (Author) – 1980 is a book
out there somewhere.
Michigan has a great resource. I didn’t see the mark you are
looking for while quickly scanning the contents online. The book has
chapters on areas of Michigan – perhaps upper Michigan logging
company is a possibility.

Subject: Logging stamp identification
The Forest County Historical Society has a visitor interested in
identifying and dating this lumber stamp. Any ideas on how we would go
about this?
