, WI - Waukesha Preservation Alliance, along with many other partner organi zations, is proud to host Historic Preservation Days on Saturday, May 19 an d Sunday, May 20, 2018.  This annual event brings local history to lif e for participants of all ages. The majority of events are FREE and open to
 the public.  This year’s event highlights the McCall St. Hist oric District and also revisits the E. Broadway Historic District. The McCa ll St. Historic District is Waukesha's largest historic district and most o f the homes were built between 1860 and 1930. Events on Saturday, May 19, include an opportunity to view and learn the history of Silurian Spring
, historic walking tours, an open house of Waukesha Fire Station Number One
 and information on the history of the fire department. The Waukesha County
 Historical Society and Museum will host an Open House, Children’s Games on the Green and a seminar on Researching Your Home. Additional Saturday events include self-guided tours of historic Prairie Home Cemetery
. There is also an opportunity for you to create an 8 x 10 painting of a Fo x, a symbol of Waukesha throughout its history, while participating in a Wa ukesha Trivia night. Reservations and payment are required for this event, which will be held at Stroke of Genius. On Sunday, May 20, open houses
 of historic homes will be held from 12 pm - 4 pm. The Waukesha Preser vation Alliance is also presenting a Historic Photo Scavenger Hunt Contest,
 where participants will search through the historic sections of our city t o identify small details of buildings. All correct entries will be entered in a drawing for prizes donated by local businesses and organizations.Â
