Good morning!

The Dane County Historical Society will have two events for the month of May that we hope you will be able to attend!

This coming Saturday will be Dane County's Second *"Hop Through History"* event! Come join the Friends of the Sun Prairie Museum and the Dane County Historical Society in Sun Prairie at the Crosse House for an ice cream social, tours of the house, and the opportunity to meet Dr. and Mrs. Crosse! *This event is an open house and will run from 12-4pm. The Crosse House is located at 133 W Main Street, Sun Prairie, WI.* Also, the Sun Prairie Museum (115 E Main Street) will be open for tours that day.Ice cream will be provided by Sassy Cow Creamery.

DCHS has decided to shift its *Annual Meeting* to take place in the Spring on *Sunday, May 20th from 1:30-4:30pm at the Goodman Community Center in Room BolzA located at 149 Waubesa Street, Madison, WI 53704*. We will hold our business meeting at that time with updates and plans for 2018, conduct board member elections to fill open positions for the Treasurer and 3 seats for Board Members at large, and have a special guest, *Susan Apps-Bodilly who will discuss her book "One Room Schools: Stories from the Days of 1 Room, 1 Teacher, 8 Grades"*, followed by a conversation on memories of one room schools!

We are delighted to invite those who attend the meeting to share their memories of one room schools and the role that they played in their lives. Memories can also be shared from family members who taught in or attended the schools. Some of these stories may be featured in upcoming newsletters!
