Actually, WE have what it takes for you to be Mount Horeb Gothic! :)
While you are in town for the annual Mount Horeb Fall Festival, stop by the
Driftless Historium (100 S 2nd St, just a short trek off Main Street) on S
aturday, October 6 between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. and try out the "Mount
Horeb Gothic Photo Booth."
Custom costumes and a hand-painted backdrop will allow you to recreate the
iconic "American Gothic" painting by Grant Wood (the original is now housed
in the Art Institute of Chicago)--also inspired by the Historium's "Mount
Horeb Gothic" troll couple, carved by artist Tom Weiss. (A variety of adult
and children's sizes are available.)
You have all the fun--we snap the pictures! $8.00 for a hi-res digital prin
t emailed to you; $15.00 for a 5x7 print mailed to you; or $20.00 for both!
All proceeds will benefit 2019 children's programming at the Driftless Hi
storium.
