Kelly,
The Fall Creek Historical Society receives no monetary funding from the Village of Fall Creek. All our buildings are owned by the Village and leased back to the Society and are located on Village owned property. We do receive mowing, snow removal, insurance, power, and water on all but one of our four buildings. We are responsible for heat, air conditioning, and lights. GLK

The Land O’ Lakes Historical Society and the Land O’ Lakes NorthernWaters Museum receives no county or town direct funding.
Our museum is located on town land, and we do get grass cutting and snow plowing (for special occasions). Our archives are located in 3 rooms of the Land O’ Lakes Town Hall, at no charge to us. Our funding needs are met by special donations, memberships, and fundraising events. Barbara Nehring Land O’ Lakes Historical Society tradingpostint@gmail.com

The Waterloo Area Historical Society receives no funding from the City or from the County. We live entirely on Memorial gifts, fundraising events, membership and donations. The City has donated $2,000 toward our Steeple Clock Tower restoration..final restoration project cost $55,000. Grant money is minimal.

The Sussex-Lisbon Area Historical Society currently receives no funding from either of the two villages and one township we represent. Though, I'm in the process of seeking annual funding from the town of Lisbon. I have to attend a budget meeting next week to request a vote on it. Just found out today. Good thing I voted!

We receive $15,000 a year from Sauk County and our total budget is
$124,000. So it sounds like your request is in line although every county is different.

      Hey there!

We just successfully were able to avoid having the county move our office out of the courthouse a few weeks ago, and we recently found that in retaliation, they are talking about possibly taking away our entire cash donation from the County Board in their 2019 budget. We have an annual budget of about $50,000 total, and their contribution has been
$7,000 and office space each of the last two years. Could you please share with me any contributions you receive from local government donors and what your organization is?

I need this to help us make our case as soon as possible, so time is of the essence. :)

      Thank you so very much!
