It's almost May and time to celebrate Historic Preservation and Archaeology
 Month! If your organization is hosting an event that celebrate a local his toric place, you can submit the event through our website for inclusion on the Historic Preservation and Archaeology Month calendar: https://www.wisco nsinhistory.org/Records/Article/CS4182

Need inspiration? Here are a few ideas:
* Awards: Sponsor an awards program to honor outstanding historic p reservation efforts
* Fundraising: Kick off a fundraising campaign for a historic prese rvation project
* Historic Building Owner Workshops: Sponsor a how-to workshop on r ehabilitating older properties
* Historic Markers & Plaques Dedication: Sponsor a dedication cerem ony
* House Genealogy: Organize a workshop to teach people how to resea rch a building's history
* Lectures: Host a lecture on a historic or archaeological topic
* A Night in a Historic Theater: Sponsor vintage films or other pro grams in a local historic theater
* Open House
* Pass a Historic Preservation Resolution: Contact a local governme nt official about sponsoring a historic preservation resolution
* Preservation/Restoration: Clean up a local cemetery or other hist oric site
* Progressive Dinner Party: Plan a progressive dinner party in hist oric sites in your community.
* Walking Tour: Host a tour or create a self-guided walking tour br ochure for your community's historic district, mound group, or archaeologic al site.
* Write an Op-Ed Piece
