Mount Horeb’s Driftless Historium (100 S 2nd St) will host Minnesota chil
dren’s author and professional storyteller Rose Arrowsmith DeCoux as Swed
ish immigrant Delia Nilsson on Tuesday, April 30 at 6:00 p.m.
This event is free and open to all, with no reservations required.
TUESDAY, APRIL 30 @ 6:00pm
Delia Nilsson has heard stories of an amazing land where the weather is nev
er cold, the pigs are big as cows and the streets are paved with gold: Amer
ika! But is she brave enough to leave Sweden for Minneapolis? The audience
will help make her decision in this interactive living history program, bas
ed on authentic, early 1900s letters and diaries.
Cookies and juice will be available after the performance for all attendees
.
“Delia’s Decision” is part of the Driftless Historium’s 2019 theme,
“Immigrants of Wisconsin: Yesterday and Today.” With financial suppor
ted generously provided by the Mount Horeb Community Foundation, the Mount
Horeb Area Historical Society is excited to host a series of exhibits and p
rograms about both early Wisconsin’s foreign-born settlers and current im
migration issues and experiences.
