Politics. Economics. History.
Lives & Livelihoods.
LET'S TALK ABOUT IT.
On Wisconsin dairy farms today, immigrants make up a majority of the workfo
rce. Many farmers say that deporting workers would harm the industry. John
Rosenow is a Wisconsin Dairy Farmer who has been outspoken in his belief th
at immigrants are critical to the success of Wisconsin’s dairy industry.

"Los Lecheros (The Dairy Farmers)", a nineteen-minute documentary, features
Rosenow’s farm and workers. The documentary, produced by The Wisconsin C
enter for Investigative Journalism and Twelve Letter Films, explores the te
nsions over immigration that have risen since 2016 and chronicles their imp
act on the livelihood and lives of undocumented dairy workers and dairy far
mers in Wisconsin.
The screening of the full documentary at Mount Horeb's Driftless Historium
(100 S 2nd St) will be immediately followed by an open conversation led by
an qualified facilitator, provided by the Wisconsin Humanities Council.
There are many aspects to this topic--political, economical, emotional and
historical, and each adds weight and complexity to any related discussion.
“Los Lecheros” is made possible by the Wisconsin Humanities Council and
their "Working Lives Project" [to find out more, go to their website at ww
