Feel a little stir crazy from staying safer at home?
Looking for a reduced-risk outing?
Mount Horeb’s downtown Driftless Historium History Center (100 S 2nd St)
will begin offering self-guided tours by appointment on Friday, July 17, st
arting at just $25.00 for an two-hour reservation. Current and Life Members
and their guests are free!
Each booking is private, with only museum staff and volunteer support on ha
nd to assist visitors and supervise the collection and facility. Limited gr
oup sizes, required face coverings and increased cleaning protocol offer ev
en more peace of mind.
Thursday time slots will offered to Members only, with the general public e
ncouraged to consider a Friday, Saturday or Sunday scheduled visit.
Guests will have access to the Main Exhibit Gallery, “Life and Change at
the Edge of the Driftless,” as well as the Book & Gift Shop and a designa
ted All Person restroom, with an optional print-at-home scavenger hunt to e
ngage younger visitors. In addition, guests –and everyone else!—are inv
ited to view the Historium’s new open-air Walk-up Gallery, featuring a sl
ate of local artists.
The Self-Guided Tours by Appointment are the first tentative step towards a
public re-opening, with planning and decisions driven by the guidance of h
ealth and government officials.
