"Unintended Consequences of Badger Ordnance" with Michael Goc
On May 12 at 7:00 PM the Badger History Group will host the last lecture of
the 2021-2022 series as a hybrid event. Join BHG at the Museum of Badger A
rmy Ammunition or on Zoom to hear Michael Goc talk about some of the uninte
nded consequences of the powder plant on the prairie in places well beyond
the perimeter fence line. Instead of covering the macro consequences like g
roundwater contamination or the Great Sauk Trail, he will focus on the micr
o and tell stories of individuals whose lives Badger changed for better or
worse.
Goc is the author of Powder, People and Place: Badger Ordnance Works and th
e Sauk Prairie, a comprehensive history on the plant era.
Registration for in-person attendance at the Museum is recommended, or tune
in through Zoom (details below). The BHG Board looks forward to seeing you
there.
