Friends -

Many of you reading this are very disappointed and angered by what has been happening in our country. We can't change the past but what we do today will affect tomorrow. There is a tremendous opportunity coming to Eau Claire that will help us learn and/or vastly improve our organizing skills, a tremendous opportunity is coming to Eau Claire: Camp Wellstone.

My friends that have attended this workshop elsewhere have been effusive in their praise of the value of this event. I urge any of you who are interested in being more effective in organizing work to explore this wonderful opportunity. And please share this with friends of your who may also be interested.

Camp Wellstone: Eau Claire, 7/21-23

Camp Wellstone is a training program that teaches progressives how to win o n issues and elect good candidates. We use a distinctive approach to politics
, based on Paul Wellstone¹s success at integrating grassroots organizing, electoral organizing, progressive public policy and ethical leadership. REGISTRATION FOR CAMP WELLSTONE: EAU CLAIRE WILL OPEN IN JUNE.

The training is highly interactive, combining exercises, lectures, and simulations over the course of 2.5 days. Camp runs Friday from 2:30 p.m.9 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. 6 p.m., and Sunday from 9 a.m.3 p.m. We keep you busy the whole time! The exact location of the camp will be announced i n the coming weeks.

Camp Wellstone is divided into three tracks: * Candidate track. This is for people who have made the decision to run for office. * Campaign track. This track focuses on how to be an effective staff or volunteer member of a winning progressive campaign. * Citizen activist track. For people interested in citizen lobbying, issue advocacy, and community organizing, this track provides skills in how to win on issues.
