Dear Peacemakers,

Here is everything I have found that is going on in the north of Wisconsin/Minnesota tomorrow. I have been waiting all day to hear back from people in Eau Claire about what seemed to be the best time. Not having heard anything, I am declaring that we are meeting on the sidewalk in front of Kohl's office at 12:00 noon. Bring signs. Call me- 715 472 8721- or reply right away (please) if you can be there. As far as I know only two people from Luck are going to be there. That's all. I hope I am wrong and that everyone is planning on being there without feeling obliged to RSVP. See you all tomorrow?

Mike

The Midwest Solar Bike Tour is sponsored by the League of Rural Voters, the Environmental Health Sciences Research Center of Iowa, the Apollo Project, UWL Progressives, SOAR, and the Viterbo Dems. CAR FREE DAY AT THE MARKET AND THE SPOKESNFOLKS PARADE
This two day event will start on Friday, September 22, which is World Car Free Day, a day when people around the world have decided to go car-free. We have many events planned for that day culminating in a festival at Cameron Park. There will be music and other entertainment as well as a wealth of information on how to live car-free, all coinciding with the Cameron Park Market.

The next day, Saturday, September 23, the SpokesnFolks Parade returns to continue its colorful history as a celebration of human powered transportation. Everyone is invited to join the parade, whether they walk, bike, skate, or whatever. Anything goes as long as it's human powered, and flamboyant creativity is encouraged. Really great prizes will be offered for the best displays. Gather at Cameron Park at 1pm
We will take a route from the park, to the Y, back through downtown to 2nd street, before heading back to Cameron Park for a party. There will be prizes for the best costume, best decorated bike, best float, and a few more. We'll have a variety of music including some surprise guests.

These events are being held during the Cameron Park Farmer's Market because we want to support the people who grow our food regionally. By buying food locally, we help decrease the huge amount of resources that are spent to truck in food to our grocery stores. Come learn more about car free options, listen to great music, buy some local produce, plus art and crafts and meet some of the friends you haven't met yet.

Car Free Day and the SpokesnFolks Parade are being sponsored by the SpokesnFolks Coalition, UW-L Progressives and the La Crosse Bike/Ped Committee.

Saturday, September 30--Barnum,MN 7:30 p.m .Common Place Farm Barn Concert Featuring: Charlie Parr and Colleen Myhre
Take a little side-trip off any of our main highways and you're bound to spy an old barn or two along the way. Some with weathered boards and quite a sag look as though no one has set foot in them in years, while others, with shiny new coats of paint and a strong stature appear to be up and running. All hold their own unique history and current charm. Our old dairy barn at Common Place Farm is one that could definitely use a little paint, and, although it no longer functions as a dairy barn, it is up and running- the loft as concert space and the lower level as both hay and antique storage, with a newly-remodeled, deluxe chicken coop that houses thirteen lovely chickens. Our barn, without question, also houses the stories and secrets of long ago days gone by, as well as the magical memories and enchanting energy of recent concerts and social events. We invite you to join us in adding yet another chapter to the living history of Common Place Farm.
