Dear Colleagues, Nobody seems to know the first thing about the county board. Not until thi s year. If you want to model civic behavior for your kids, your students, or your peers, please vote tomorrow. You can plan for it by reading up on the candidates. Below is a link to some information that should help you.

If you live in District 31, west of Lee St. in the East Side Hill, and vote
at Our Savior's Lutheran Church on Main St., please know that Ted Barr is running as a write-in candidate. He has generated a lot of neighborhood in terest as an alternative to the incumbent who strongly supports the jail, i gnores his constituents on the issue (I have gone door to door and spoken w ith as many as 100 people in the neighborhood, and only 1 person is in favo r of the jail - his wife works for county corrections), and dismisses the public's participation as "too late."

Ted Barr is on the City's Redevelopment Authority, was involved in the deve lopment of the City's comprehensive plan, and has been the president of the
 neighborhood association.

Not incidentally, the student senate is taking up a resolution today opposi ng the expansion of the jail complex (unless the weather prevents the spons or from returning to town today).
