Jason Hicks presents: "A road map of the political landscape of the
Palestinian-Israeli Conflict"
Free and open to the public.
In this presentation, Hicks will explore the contemporary political
realities of the Palestinian-Israeli Conflict, particularly the changing
political dynamics following the War on Gaza in January 2009. His
experience in the region, including meetings with a variety of
diplomats, scholars, and politicians, will be used to analyze the
current status and intentions of the major players in the Palestinian
and Israeli political systems.
The role of the United States and the new Obama administration in the
Conflict, including the relationships between the U.S. and the
Palestinians and Israelis, will be examined.
The vital questions of what viable solutions exist to this 60-year
Conflict and how the regional and global participants can move forward
towards peace also will be discussed.
Jason Hicks recently spent a year living in Palestine and Israel and
working in Jerusalem for the Palestinian Academic Society for the Study
of International Affairs (PASSIA). During his stay in the region, Hicks
met with a variety of diplomats, scholars, and politicians to discuss
the historical, cultural, and political realities of the
Palestinian-Israeli Conflict. Hicks is a regular commentator on the
Conflict, including publications in the Washington Report on Middle East
Affairs and The Huffington Post. He maintains a blog at
