My grandmother used to have a two-burner kerosene kitchen stove. Your glass container looks very much like the fuel reservoir that sat on the end of the stove. The full glass container would be inverted into a metal holder; the spring-loaded plunger on the cap would be forced up into the jar and fuel would gravity feed into the stove line.

History Buffs and others,

We have an item in our museum which we are uncertain of its use. I wonder if someone out there might be able to help?

Thanks in advance!

Nancy
