Hi Nancy,
What you have pictured looks like our Kerosene container that would be
turned upside down at one end of a Kerosene kitchen stove and it would
feed the fuel to the wick burners. The spring would let only the amount
of fuel called for to be burned.
Water feeders in the chicken yard would feed water in a similar
controlled way.
We have the whole stove and new ["old"] wick replacements in the
basement of the Historic Blooming Grove Historical Society Museum in
Madison if you want to see it sometime.

History Buffs and others,
We have an item in our museum which we are uncertain of its use. I
wonder if someone out there might be able to help?
Thanks in advance!
