Subject: Happening at the Depot Museum

Hello Janet, would you pass along to the other groups that the Sussex-Lisbo n Area Historical Society's Depot Museum (Waukesha County) has several new exhibits for visitors. One member has loaned us his camera collection with items dating back to c1910. Another exhibit is the history of the bandaid b andage in tins and magazine ads beginning in the 1920s. We're building a th ird exhibit highlighting the local area music, esp., polka and rock n' roll
bands. Our main Saloons & Taverns exhibit from last year has been condense d to accommodate these new ones. We also created an exhibit last Summer to preserve the Land O' Lakes league local baseball teams in Sussex and Lannon
. LOL league [baseball, basketball, boxing, and bowling] along with your lo cal music talent are areas your societies may wish to explore in the future
. We are open every Wednesday, 1-6:30pm, and the 2nd and 4th Saturdays each
month, 1-4pm. Admission is $4.00, under 10, Free. Parking is next door in the Piggly

Wiggly lot, main St., Sussex. Our website is www.slahs.org

On a side note: This will be our last one and a half years in the former Ch icago North Western Railway depot. We are moving into the new Village of Su ssex Civic Center after its completion late 2016/early 2017. The depot buil ding was donated to the Village and will be moved further along the Bug Lin e recreation trail in Sussex to be repurposed as a trail head. The depot's current location has never been very visible to the public after its move t here in 1978, so now our Society gains much more exhibit space and the old building will be preserved in a new life.

Thank you,

Mike
