Wisconsin History Week Celebration

History Week in Wisconsin has been set for May 16 through May 22. Each yea r the week celebrates Wisconsin heritage through architecture and archeolog y. As part of the celebration, the New Holstein Historical Society will op en both the Pioneer Corner Museum and the Timm House free of charge. The d ates that the buildings will be open are Saturday, May 21 and Sunday, May 2 2, from 1pm to 4pm on both days. The Timm House features a restoration of
a Stick Victoria style home with its interior two floors decorated in the time period of 1895 to 1905. Many pieces in the home are original furnishi ngs that belonged to the builder and original owners, H.C. and Augusta Timm
. The Pioneer Corner Museum features artifacts and scenes from early New H olstein. 2016 will see the opening of the "General Store" on "the streets of Old New Holstein." In the South Gallery two new temporary exhibits will
open. One entitled: "The Furniture Connection" between New Holstein and K iel, specifically the story of A.A. Laun. The second exhibit is a remembra nce of Grandma Clown and the Diner Clowns. Don't miss this opportunity to explore New Holstein's historic sites on these special days.
