Hello Mikki,
My best and personal knowledge is regarding the logging that took place in
the Presque Isle, Wisconsin area. Two points of interest for me was
visiting the Shanty Boys cemetery in Presque Isle. The second was a trip
across Dunn Lake, located in Frontier Lakes area to see a number of large
trees known as ancient pines that are still standing on one side of the
lake. These remaining trees represent the end of the logging era. I believe
a great deal can be leaned by contacting the Presque Isle chamber of
commerce.
After locating several pictures taken a few years ago, I also found a Geo
cashing location that gave a very brief history of the Shanty Boys
cemetery, but I'm sure there is a lot more

As soon as I can contact my brother who has lived in the area for quite
some time, I can provide more information. That is if you would like.
Hope the bit of information helps.
Sincerely,
Anne Kertscher, President
