The Marathon County Historical Society runs a Little Red Schoolhouse program
annually for fourth-graders across the county to experience a day in a
one-room school circa 1904. This link is meant for classroom teachers to use
before their visit to prepare the kids.

We invite schools across the county to register (i.e. request dates to
visit) during one week in May for the following school year. We create the
schedule based on their date requests. I attached a copy of this year's
invitation letter.
Anna Chilsen-Straub recruits retired teachers as volunteers (they are paid a
small stipend at the end of each term which covers mileage and incidentals).
These volunteers take turns as the schoolteachers.
Feedback from students is that this is their favorite day of fourth grade!

Subject: Do you provide programming in a one-room school?
Hello.
The Monroe County Local History Room & Museum has an intern this summer
developing curriculum for the historic Brackett School. I know that there
are several historic one-room schools in Wisconsin which are open to
teachers to bring their students for programming. I'm reaching out
requesting if any of you would be willing to share your one-room school
lesson plans with us? While we will be creating a lesson plan specific to
our one-room school, there is no reason to reinvent the wheel, right? We,
in turn, would gladly share with you the curriculum we end up creating.
Thank you,
Jarrod
