I'd like to share the exciting news that Milwaukee Preservation Alliance
has announced the hiring of Craig Wiroll for our new Executive Director.
Craig started with MPA in mid-August. Please see below for our press

The Milwaukee Preservation Alliance Board of Directors is pleased to
announce that Craig Wiroll has been named Executive Director of the
organization. Wiroll’s award-winning portfolio from the last decade
includes historic preservation research, inclusive public participation and
outreach efforts, and innovative social impact investment and grant
management. His experience and proven ability to connect folks from all
sectors and backgrounds will allow MPA to expand programming and advocacy
across the Greater Milwaukee area as well as catalyze public-private
partnerships to preserve Milwaukee’s built heritage and discover cr
eative
reuse strategies that benefit all Milwaukeeans.
Milwaukee Preservation Alliance Board of Directors’ President Peter
Zanghi
said of Wiroll, "We are extremely excited about the opportunity this hiring
brings to preservation work in Milwaukee. Craig exemplifies both the vision
Milwaukee Preservation Alliance has had over the previous 16 years - as
well as the advancements we hope to make in our diversified programming

With a history of helping facilitate social progress in Wisconsin and
nationally, Wiroll recently moved back to Milwaukee after managing a
philanthropic fund on the west coast for the international technology
nonprofit, Mozilla - a role that led to him being named a “20 Under

Rising Business Star”. Prior to working at Mozilla, Wiroll served o
n the
Domestic Policy Council at the White House in Washington, D.C. as part of
the Executive Office of the President working with federal agencies and
departments to streamline and improve the effectiveness of Federal programs
serving rural America, engaging stakeholders on issues and solutions in
rural communities, and promoting and coordinating private sector
partnerships.

Wiroll received his Master of Public Administration degree from the
University of Oregon, garnering a national planning award from the American
Planning Association for applied research entitled, "Oregon Historic
Theaters: Statewide Survey and Needs Assessment". Wiroll received his BA in
Journalism from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and is also a
two-time AmeriCorps alumni.
