I belong to several organizations, history-related on other, and
have
found individual dues to be in the $15/year range, but often in
the
$30/year range. Dues "value" depends on the degree to which the
organization undertakes activities and communicates with members and
the public.
A caution about "lifetime memberships": if you offer th
em do you do an
analysis of what the continuing costs of providing ser
vices to members
costs the organization? You might find that the costs
of printing,
mailing, etc., year after year, outweigh the revenues yo
u charge for
the membership category.
