Just an idea: You could enlist a graphic-design class -- say at the Madison Area Technical College. Talk to the instructor and see if they take on public clients; your new logo could become their class project. You'd want to reserve the right not to take any of them, but if you did, the student would have a nice portfolio item, and you'd have a logo at no cost.
