The United States must not continue to remain silent regarding the
present situation in Lebanon. Civilian casualties are growing on both
sides, yet Congress and the administration refuse to exert effective
influence with Israel to cease airstrikes that have created
thousands of refugees.
Arab states have offered to use their influence with Hezbollah. We must
encourage them to do so. At the same time, it is essential that the
House and Senate send a clear message to Israel that they must stop the
airstrikes!
