Subject: Eau Claire area needs help deciding to Vote No!

Hi all -

Recent polling on the Anti-Gay Marriage/Anti-Civil Union Amendment shows 48% in favor of the ban and 40% opposed, with 12% undecided. I was surprised (chagrined?) to learn yesterday that the Eau Claire area, along with LaCrosse and Green Bay, has the strongest support FOR the ban. As a result Fair Wisconsin is targeting this area with ads, but they need more help.

Hannah Johnson (hannah.johnson@fairwisconsin.com) is staffing the Eau Claire Fair Wisconsin office at 211 Graham St (379-2051). You can find upcoming Eau Claire Action Events at http:// www.fairwisconsingroups.com/calendar/eauclaire/ though I'm sure Hannah could use help at other times. They need people for data entry, door to door canvassing, phone banking, and office work. They also collect commitments to Vote No at events like the Farmers Market and Concerts in the Park.

Posters and other material are available to print out at the Fair Wisconsin website.

If we don't defeat this amendment, we're going to have to change our state motto to "Backward."

Thanks, Kate Hinnant
