Dear SFPJ: The attached letter concerns local peace & justice group JONAH's work to pr omote community based treatment instead of prisons. In the attachment, you
can read the statistics sited for the many reasons to change the state app roach towards nonviolent offenders including racial inequities, increased i ncarceration costs and lack of effectiveness. There is also a link to sign the ONLINE PETITION TO GOV. DOYLE at http://ww w.wisdomwi.org/ WI spends more on prisons than on education or health care
per citizen. It's time to change that. For more info, you could contact anyone at the JONAH group: http://www.gamaliel.org/Wisdom/Jonah/contact.ht m.

Thanks for your quick action on this.
