If you create your book with Microsoft Word or Open Office and set the
formatting exactly how you want the book to look (page size, margins,
numbers, layout), something pretty straightforward, you can get a very
reasonable print-on-demand book through Amazon's createspace.com
I have done several this way. You can order 1 to 1000s of books to sell
yourself as well as have them listed on Amazon's book store.
I have also done many with local printers including Eau Claire Printing
ECprinting.com where you have to buy a set quantity ahead of time.
I do my own layout and print out a test copy so no cost in editing or
layout--just the printing. A 200 page 8.5x11 book in quantities of 300
area bout $8 each at ECprinting--color cover --soft cover. On
createspace.com it is about the same except you have to pay for shipping.
