Tim,
Have you looked into ScanPro 1000? It works with a computer. Google it,
lots of info in the web.
Phillips Public Library has one that works well. I’d suggest a
vertical computer screen position for ease of reading the films.
There are upgrades to ScanPro 1000 as this is the basic model.

I would suggest looking into a digital reader that interfaces with a
computer and shows the microfilm image on a computer screen. We've got
one at our local library now and it is so much better than the old
viewer/printer machines.

Hello Tim,
The PCHS does not have a reader, you may be familiar with the one at
the Amery Library used to view Amery Free Press editions , and I believe
the Amery Free Press may have their own machine. They could be good
resources.

Greetings:
The Clear Lake Historical Museum does not have a microfilm reader
for
reading newspapers printed in our community that we plan to purchase
from the Wisconsin Historical Society. I am asking for advice on
what
we should be looking for in our first reader. Are there sites where
used equipment is available or should we only consider buying new
technology?
Thanks for sharing you experiences.
