Hi Karen,
Thank for your info regarding membership cards. I'm not sure what we
would have to give members discounts on, but my side of the debate has been
that cards are a good way to give members a greater sense of belonging to
our Society and is something tangible we can give them. Right now, we
are working on getting a handle on who our members are and who we can call
on to volunteer to help with various things throughout the year.

The Eagle River Historical Society is contemplating membership cards.Â
We are overhauling our membership program and want to add benefits to m
embership, such as gift shop discounts and possibly free or discounted entr
y to some events. Cards would also show membership level. Â
The down side is the increased cost of sending cards to members but we feel
boosting our program would be worth the investment.

Hello,
At the Mondovi Area Historical Society, we are currently in the process of
sending out membership renewal letters to our members and others in the com
munity who have expressed interest in our Society and in general cleaning u
p our membership rolls. We are having a debate among our officers whe
ther or not membership cards are necessary. I am inquiring what other
societies are doing regarding such cards, do you send them out or if not h
ow do you acknowledge membership renewals or new memberships?
Thanks.
