Subject: Re: Membership Cards?

At the New Berlin Historical Society we no longer send out membership cards. True, they are tangible evidence of belonging, but that is all. We do not charge admission to our Open Houses or to the two public meetings we have each year with a speaker, so they wouldn't be needed then.. We send out letter or email reminders when it is renewal time. We ask them to complete a brief application and return it with a check. The application helps us keep current with their address, emails and phone numbers and there is also a place where they can check if they would be interested in volunteering. I acknowledge all new members and personally call the ones that are interested in volunteering.
