Recently the Waterloo Area Historical Society was donated an 1884
collection of scrapbook advertising cards and other pictures. Scrapbook
donated to Merlie M. Patten by Maggie Heinig 1884. Waterloo did have an
early photographer named Cyrus L. Patten and brother Chester Patten,
photographers in the 1890's. Lovely advertising cards with Huyler's Fine
Confections, another with Hyer's Improved Root Beer. etc. with vintage
pictures. Researching the connection re: Patten. Any clue on value of
vintage collection of advertising cards?
